Acrylic is one of the most versatile of all thermoplastics and Amari Plastics is the exclusive UK distributor of Acrycast® and Acryglas XT®, and the leading distributor of the world''s best known brand of acrylic sheet, PLEXIGLAS®. Acrylic sheet is manufactured by one of two methods.
Acryglas XT is an extruded sheet that is manufactured by extruding PMMA granules through an extrusion line and die to achieve the size and thickness of sheet required; whereas Acrycast is a cast sheet that is manufactured by casting liquid MMA between 2 sheets of plates glass and polymerising the liquid to form a solid PMMA sheet.
Although Acrycast and Acryglas XT are produced by different methods the resulting high quality sheets have many similarities and yet important differences which is why both brands are so often the material to use.
Both Acrycast and Acryglas XT sheet offer:
Acryglas XT is available in clear, opals, black, High Impact, Anti reflective, Silicone Glass and a few tints or colours. The extrusion process allows a range of sheet widths up to 2050mm and a sheet length that is only limited by the handling logistics, although 3050mm is a standard length.
The differences in the manufacturing process enable the whole range of acrylic products within the Amari product family to be produced with special properties:
Acryglas XT® Impact - a range of impact modified sheet that combines the excellent properties of Acryglas XT sheet with a higher impact strength that can match polycarbonate. Acryglas XT Impact is available from stock in up to 3 different levels of impact modification.
Acryglas XT® Colours - Acryglas XT is available from stock in a range of white, Opals, Black and Silicone Glass effects. Other colours are available on request subject to minimum manufacturing quantities. Specific colour matching can also be undertaken.
Acryglas XT® AR - Acryglas XT is available from stock in a range of clear anti reflective sheets suitable for indoor applications such as picture framing, poster protection etc where the level of reflectivity is reduced.
A complimentary range of extruded acrylic tubes and rods is also available upon request to your local sales office.
